Video: Climate march that culminates in 450-person human painting!

Excerpts from this video were shown to world leaders as they entered Paris climate talks in 2015! I designed and co-led (with 350 Eugene) this youth-centered Global Climate March & Collaborative Art Project that was featured in the London-based global climate art festival ArtCOP21. It was also included in the Avaaz video montage (see gallery) of worldwide protests shown to world leaders as they entered UN negotiating chambers. 500 people came out on a chilly Thanksgiving weekend to march for a global treaty and to demand that the US get OFF dirty energy and ON clean energy. For the art portion, we created a giant oil drip with our bodies and, as cameras filmed from above, transformed the oil drip into a huge sunflower, the symbol of solar power. People sang “Here Comes the Sun” and afterwards enjoyed “climate cookies” made by dozens of volunteers from our local high school.
